KAHNAWAKE, CANADA and ST. JOHN’S, ANTIGUA – Bodog and the Morris Mohawk Gaming Group (www.morrismohawk.com) announced today the finalization of a domain licensing agreement and the resurrection of the world-renowned www.bodog.com.

The MMGG acquired many valuable domains – including www.bodog.com – when it recently settled a patent case that had been ongoing in the United States. When asked why the MMGG stepped in, Mr. Alwyn Morris, Chief Executive for the Morris Mohawk Gaming Group noted “While the MMGG was not the judgment debtor, the defendant supplier hadn’t been operational since 2007 and there was therefore simply no possibility of their satisfying the default judgment. We are the exclusive licensee of the ‘Bodog’ brand within the region and so our business was impacted by anything that cast a shadow across the brand. We wanted to remove any residual uncertainty that this case had created, and we wanted to acquire the domains – it was a straightforward business decision.”

“We are absolutely thrilled to be able to return the Bodog experience to its rightful home – the reaction of staff and key suppliers has been thunderous,” says Mr. Morris. “We will be transitioning the MMGG site to this domain over the coming weeks. Moreover, we have only just this morning inked a deal with Bodog Antigua, from whom we license the Bodog brand. Under this contract, outside of our brand license territory, the www.bodog.com domain will be redirected to the other brand licensees’ sites, as appropriate. One domain, worldwide.”

Keith McDonnell, Managing Director of Bodog Europe noted “As the ‘Bodog’ brand licensee for Europe, we are ecstatic to see the return of www.bodog.com. Working with the MMGG and the other licensees, geo-targeting will be used to ensure visitors outside of the MMGG’s territory are directed to the correct site, including ours (www.bodoglife.co.uk). This way, the marketing efforts of every licensee to promote www.bodog.com benefit us all, ultimately reinforcing and strengthening the global brand. It will absolutely be a win-win-win solution.”

Mr. Morris added “The MMGG and the other Bodog licensees are experiencing tremendous momentum right now, and we are confident that this will only add fuel to the remarkable growth and expansion of the businesses. The brand is stronger than ever and a new day is dawning – everyone feels it.”

Bodog.com is back!

New Absolute Buddy Feature Personalizes Online Poker Community
Absolute Poker enhances software to help online poker players discover where their favorite opponents are seated

Miami, FL May 28, 2008 – Absolute Poker today announced the launch of Absolute Buddy, a convenient, complementary feature that allows online poker players to discover where their favorite players are seated and connect with them instantly.

“We’re taking our online poker community to an entirely new level by making it easier for players to connect with one another,” stated David Clainer, Senior Vice President for Absolute Poker.

Absolute Buddy is integrated into the Absolute Poker software. Computer users familiar with instant messaging applications like Windows Live Messenger, Google Chat and AIM will find the interface of Absolute Buddy familiar and incredibly easy to use.

Registered users can add their favorite poker players to Absolute Buddy and instantly discover when they’re online and where they’re seated. Players listed in bold represent those who are logged in to the Absolute Poker software. Online poker players seated at a table are denoted with a triangle to the left of their name. Clicking the triangle will display the table names where the player is seated. Poker players who appear in muted gray are not online.

Not only does Absolute Buddy display the table name where a poker player is seated, but the feature will also catapult the player to a table when its name is double clicked.

Clainer notes that while the new feature is extremely handy for discovering where your friends are playing, it’s particularly useful for finding the players you’ve successfully beaten in the past.

Carbon Poker – $50,000 Guaranteed

CarbonPoker veteran bullitpete has taken down the first $50,000 guaranteed tournament in true style. The new $50,000 guaranteed which runs every week, is one of the best value tournaments available online, so if you missed out this week, I seriously expect you to be there next Sunday!

Seriously! If you don’t…I’ll be more disappointed than your mum would be if you bought her a case of your favorite beer for her birthday. Anyways, this Sundays tournament was a grueling poker exercise with some very heated competition. Running for a marathon 5.5 hours despite only a small field of 194. Now if the significance of this is yet to dawn on you then I’m going to educate your lacking poker mind. ….back to junior high maths…

$50,000 Guaranteed at $100 buy ins = 500 players
194 players = your playing for a prize pool that has been made up of 500 buy ins. So your getting a shot at loads of money with a relatively small field. Comprende?

Anyways, congratulation to bullitpete and all players who managed to cash! Well done and enjoy your winnings!

On Monday, April 20, at 9pm, the “Flight Club – WSOPC New Orleans – 2 Seats” Semifinal event will offer one $7,000 WSOP Circuit prize package for every 28 players in the event with two of those packages guaranteed.

The buy-in for the Semifinal event is $250 + $20, but Bodog Poker is running qualifiers during the rest of this week and over the weekend as part of the Bodog Flight Club promotion, so players will have the opportunity to get into the Semifinal on the cheap and possibly turn just a few dollars into several hundred thousand. The WSOP Circuit event held at Caesars Atlantic City a month ago paid out $322,944 to the winner, and as New Orleans is always a popular destination for poker players, the prize pool is expected to be similar for this event.

The qualifiers for the Semifinal can be found under the “Live Events” tab in the Bodog Poker software.

Winners of this Bodog Flight Club package for the WSOP Circuit event in New Orleans will instantly become a member of Team Bodog, receiving $2,000 for travel and accommodation, the $5,000 buy-in to the championship event and the chance to make a little extra cash based on performance and exposure.

“I’m utterly over the moon about winning the European Ladies Championships,” stated Liv Boeree. “It was a fantastic tournament with a great sense of camaraderie and a really tough final table that I enjoyed playing from start to finish. This is also a great boost to my confidence going into the World Series of Poker* which is drawing ever closer.”

The land-based poker tournament, held on May 3rd and 4th in London, featured some of the best female poker players on the continent including Annette Obrestad, the winner of the WSOPE Main Event. Liv Boeree placed first in the tournament, securing a commemorative trophy and $30,000 in cash.

Boeree began her poker career on the television series UltimatePoker.com Showdown in August 2005. There, she learned some valuable tips from Annie Duke, one of the poker world’s best female players, and caught the attention of popular online poker site Absolute Poker.

In a little over two years, Liv has amassed several top-10 finishes in Texas Hold’em tournaments across London including multiple first place wins.
